Boy praised for 'inspirational' act of kindness at Flintshire cemetery
A nine-year-old boy has been praised for an "inspirational" act of kindness at a cemetery.
Corey Hall, from Mold, has received hundreds of messages of praise on social media after a post about his kind gesture went viral.Mum, Kym Watson, said she and her son Corey were walking though Mold Cemetery when the boy noticed a grave without flowers.
Kym said: "We were walking to my friends house and my son was interested in reading the graves and this grave really stood out to him as it was a one year old boy who passed away.
"Every time we walked past many of the grave stones had flowers but this one didn't."
Kym said Corey was sad to see the grave was untidy and asked to buy fresh flowers to decorate the grave, despite not knowing who it belonged to.She continued: "So he wanted to buy flowers we went to Tesco and he chose the brightest flowers there was. We got to the grave yard and we notice that it was covered it branches pine cones and bits of rubbish so he tidied it up as much as he could."Kym said Corey carefully placed the flowers in the pots but while doing so, he noticed other graves that hadn't been attended to and said he wanted to clean those too.
She said: "Once he cleaned up the gravestone these were his words - 'that's really made me feel good about myself and I want to help others.'"So once a fortnight we are going to the grave yard and cleaning up a grave stone at a time. He has also said if there is anybody who can't attend their loved ones' graves he is happy to help clean it up and even buy flowers."
