Several people in custody after assault in Cardiff city centre, police confirm

Armed police descended on Cardiff city centre after reports of an assault on Wednesday night (May 11).

Firearms officers were deployed to Westgate Street as a precautionary measure following the incident.

South Wales Police tweeted to confirm that there were no reported serious injuries and a number of people are in custody.

It added: "Enquiries are ongoing and we thanks the public for their support."
