Chepstow fire: Firefighters tackle blaze at Severn Bridge Club

Firefighters worked late into Wednesday night as they tackled a blaze at a former social club.

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service were called to Chepstow’s Severn Bridge Club in Bulwark just after 7pm on Wednesday evening.

Thirty firefighters attended the blaze at its height with one crew was still at the scene on Thursday morning.

Parts of the A48 were closed on Wednesday evening with firefighters from Chepstow, Maindee, Aberbargoed, Caerphilly, and Avon and Somerset also at the scene.

The fire service has confirmed that nobody has been hurt in the fire, while nearby buildings were evacuated.
