Gemma Grainger's side look to extend their unbeaten start to their 2023 World Cup qualifying campaign when Wales face Greece this evening.

Wales are in second place ahead of the fixture at the Parc y Scarlets and are two points behind leaders France.

Finishing in second place will secure them a place in the play-offs as they aim for their first ever World Cup appearance.

Grainger is aiming to continue the team's momentum built in previous matches and is aware of the strength Greece can bring to the match.

She said: "What we have seen from Greece is that they have good strengths in possession, they have got good players and from watching previous games we can see they have qualities.

"We have been looking to improve our team performance and how we can exploit theirs too.

"We know what need to do and the element of patience will come into it, as we hope to be consistent throughout the whole game."

Wales will be without two key players this evening.

Leicester City Forward Hannah Cain is unavailable after being ruled out for the rest of the season due after rupturing her anterior cruciate ligament.

Rachel Rowe is still unavailable due to injury. The Reading midfielder suffered a hamstring injury in training last month, and will miss the match this evening.

Grainger added: "We knew we had to be adaptable going into this campaign, whilst it was nice to talk about in previous conferences to talk about no major injuries.

"We were prepared for this, it will be nice to take advantage of the whole team, to make sure we can be competitive in the games ahead.

"All players will play a part."

Nearly 4,000 tickets have been sold for tonights match - double the number sold for the opener against Kazakhstan in September.

Wales set the record for a home crowd when 5,455 fans packed out Cardiff City Stadium in their 4-0 win against Estonia.

Wales captain Sophie Ingle has noticed the growing interest in women's football and has thanked all fans, whether old or new, for their attendance.

"We are gaining new fans," she said.

"I know a lot of fans at the last game were first timers and had never been to a women's game before.

"We are so thankful that they want come back. It is amazing that we have sold almost 4,000 tickets - it is fantastic that the fans want to return to support us."

Grainger is excited for her side to play in front of a doubled noisy crowd in Llanelli tonight.

She added: "Attending the men's games in the last few weeks and seeing the power of the red wall and the red wall in the Estonia game for us double these attendance figures.

"It is huge for us - they will help us be successful, and they help us to win games. I am excited as the noice will be doubled."

Wales kick off their crucial match against at Parc Y Scarlets at 7.15pm with the match shown live on BBC Two Wales.
