Whale measuring 3.5 metres washed up dead on Rhos-on-Sea
A whale has washed ashore on Rhos-on-Sea beach in north Wales.
The animal, which washed up dead, measured three and a half metres long.
The coastguard is currently on the scene along with British Divers Marine Life Rescue, while the whale is examined.
The animal was at first believed to be a dolphin, but it has been since confirmed as a Sowerby's beaked whale by experts at the scene.
Sowerbys are rarely seen so close to the land edge as they are said to favour offshore waters to the west of the UK and Ireland.
