Welsh Rugby Star Alun Wyn Jones has accepted his OBE for his services to rugby union.

Named in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list last year, Alun Wyn Jones was one of three rugby stars to be given an award.

The list, which was meant to be published in June last year, was postponed in order to consider nominations for people playing crucial roles during the first months of the Covid-19 effort.

Today (November 9) Wales’ most-capped international was honoured for his services to rugby union.

In a post on social media, he described the OBE as ‘’a huge honour’’.

He said: ‘’I’m accepting my OBE on behalf of everyone who has had a hand in and supported me to this point in my career. Diolch.’’

Alun Wyn Jones' celebration comes only a few days after he was ruled out of Wales' Six Nations with a shoulder injury.
