Welsh farms where you can pick your very own pumpkin this Halloween

With Halloween fast approaching, here are just some of the Welsh farms where you can pick your pumpkin.

Steve Forsight is a local farmer in the Brecon Beacons. He planted 9,000 pumpkin plants in June on his land at Sennybridge Pumpkins.

It's the second time he has grown the fruit and has roughly 15,000 ready for this Halloween.

He said he's "so pleased" with the outcome and that it's already beyond his "wildest expectations".

Steve hopes growing mass pumpkins will bring in more visitors to the area and help diversify farming.

"We've got to move the times on and get the people involved in what we do with agriculture in Wales."

Here are some of the places across Wales where you can pick a pumpkin

  • Windsor Farm and Pumpkin Patch

The Lamphey farm in Pembrokeshire is open for most weekends over October to pick from over 12 varieties of pumpkin.

  • Rosedew Farm in the Vale of Glamorgan

The farm will be open for pumpkin picking from Saturday 23 October until Sunday 31 October. Visitors will also be able to pick sweetcorn and enjoy Halloween activities.

  • Bellis Farm in Wrexham

Pumpkin picking is taking place on weekends throughout October and the farm will open every day from 25 -31 October.

  • Powell's Farms, Radnorshire

Powell's near to New Radnor in Radnorshire, has started pumpkin picks but are asking all visitors to pre-book before they go.

  • Northwood Pumpkin Patch

Northwood is open everyday from 1 to 31 October. On the 23 and 24 October a craft fair is taking place with local craft stalls.

  • Pumpkin Picking Patches in Cardiff and Porthcawl

The Coedarhydyglyn Park in St Nicholas in Cardiff and the Tycoch Farm in Porthcawl farm are open every weekend and over half term from Friday 22 October.

  • Pencoed Fach Farm in Blackwood

The Caerphilly-based farm is starting pumpkin picking from 15 October.

  • Matthews Pumpkin Patch in Aberbran Fawr, Brecon

The farm is now open to pick a pumpkin and there is also free access for children to have a wander around the 'corn maze'.

  • Gower Halloween at Poundffald Farm

The Poundffald Farm in Swansea is hosting a range of events for Halloween including pumpkin picking, which is now available. Its main Halloween events are taking place from Saturday 23 October.

  • Pembrokeshire Pumpkin Farm

The farm in Moylgrove is now open for pumpkin picking. Visitors are being advised to bring wellies as the farm can be muddy.
