Llanelli crash: Parents speak of 'indescribable' pain after death of six-month-old baby girl
The parents of a six-month-old baby who died in an alleged drink-crash in Llanelli have spoken of their heartbreak.
Baby Eva Maria Nichifor was inside her family's blue Vauxhall Vectra in a child seat when it was hit by a 3 series BMW on a busy crossroads.
Eva's parents Carmen and Florin, who came to Carmarthen from Romania three years ago, paid tribute to their "perfect baby girl" after her death on Friday night.
In a statement to Dyfed Powys Police, they said: "We are distraught by our loss. Eva Maria, only six months old, will be missed by us all.
“She was our miracle, our perfect baby girl, a gift from God. She will always be in our hearts.
“We would like to thank everyone for their support at this horrific time. It has meant so much to the whole family.
“We would now like time to grieve and would ask to be given privacy in which to do so.”
Mum Carmen, a healthcare assistant, said: “It took all the happiness. It destroyed my family.
“The house is empty without her. Our souls are burned on the inside.”
She added: “I hope God takes care of her because our pain is indescribable.”
A fundraising page has raised over £9,000 for the heartbroken parents. Flowers and children's toys have been laid on the roadside grass verge.
Lucy Dyer, 23, appeared at Llanelli Magistrates Court on Monday October 11, charged with with causing death by dangerous driving and drink driving.
The mother-of-one, of Llanelli, is now set to appear at Swansea Crown Court on November 12.
