Cardiff police incident: Five people taken to hospital after City Road attack

Five people have been taken to hospital after a major incident in Cardiff.

City Road was cordoned off as emergency service vehicles were at the scene of an "assault" on Sunday afternoon.

South Wales Police confirmed was in attendance at an incident after reports of an assault at around 2.44pm.

A spokesperson said: "There is quite a large police presence in the area and members of the public are advised to stay away while it is being dealt with."

Two of the injured victims were discharged within hours after the alleged attack.

The South Wales Police spokesperson said: "The other three are expected to be discharged later this evening with follow up appointments."

A passer-by warned motorists against driving to the area during the ongoing incident.

South Wales Police is now appealing for anyone with mobile phone footage or dashcam footage of the incident or aftermath to contact the force, quoting reference 2100312749.
