Speedo Mick: Meet the former homeless man 'giving back' by walking 2,000 miles in just his bathers
A charity fundraiser has just completed the Wales leg of his 2,000-mile UK walking tour - wearing just a pair of speedos.
Michael Cullen, or 'Speedo Mick' as he's known, has already walked 1,000 miles across Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland as part of his Giving Back Tour.
He's covered 1,200 miles so far since he began on May 31 and given back £100,000 to local charities along the way who support mental health, homelessness, addiction and disadvantaged children.
Michael is a recovering alcoholic and drug addict who has been clean and sober for 19 years. He was previously homeless and suffered with his mental health so dedicated his life to helping others with the same issues.
He told ITV Wales: "I've been there myself - I've had mental health problems, I've had addiction issues and I've been able to resolve them with support so that's exactly what the Speedo Mick foundation has been set up to do."By getting vulnerable you can begin again. Trusting people for me was a really difficult thing. "But slowly but surely, one step in front of the other - things have changed and now I'm able to contribute to society and hopefully inspire someone to take another direction in their lives."
The inspiring fundraiser walked from Cowbridge to Cardiff on Friday before completing the next leg from Bristol onto Wells.
The aim of the tour is to give back £250,000 to charities along the way and Mick urges Welsh charities to apply from a grant from The SpeedoMick Foundation.
