Star Wars and Black Panther actor Forest Whitaker shares pictures from 'beautiful Wales'
Oscar-winning American actor Forest Whitaker has shared pictures of "beautiful Wales" taken between shoots of his latest film also staring Tom Hardy.The actor, who won an Academy Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of Idi Amin in The Last King of Scotland in 2006, has featured in both Star Wars and the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
His social media post revealed he visited some of Wales' most famous tourist spots including Tenby and Penarth.He's in Wales filming for his latest project - a Netflix movie called Havoc - which also stars Tom Hardy.
He posted pictures of himself standing in front of Tenby's St Catherine's Island and Penarth Pier, and he also visited Tredegar House in Newport.He captioned his photos with a simple, yet heartfelt, message: "Enjoying time in the beautiful Wales before going back to set."Forest made his film debut in 1982 in Fast Times at Ridgemont High and while best known for his acting and directing, he's also famous for his humanitarian work and activism, particularly in the last decade.Havoc tells the tale of a drug deal gone wrong and a detective who has to battle his way through the criminal underworld to rescue the estranged son of a leading politician.
The Guildhall building in Swansea was pictured as a snowy film set with American police cars parked outside.
It also stars Tom Hardy and Luis Guzmán - who have both been pictured enjoying Wales in recent weeks. The film is being directed by Gareth Evans, the Aberdare filmmaker behind the acclaimed bone-crunching martial arts thrillers The Raid and The Raid 2, the Michael Sheen horror Apostle and, most recently, Sky Atlantic's Gangs of London.
