Wrexham death: Tributes to Karl Saffy as father and son appear in court charged with his murder

A father and son have appeared in court charged with murdering a grandfather at a house in Penycae, Wrexham, on Monday.

Karl Saffy, who was from the Cristionydd area was taken to hospital following the incident on 23 August, but later died.

The 57-year old has been described as the "centre of family life" by his relatives.

In a tribute to Mr Saffy, his family said: “Karl was a dearly loved husband, father, brother and taid who will be sadly missed by many.

“He was the centre of family life and was taken from us far too soon.

“As a family we are all heartbroken following the tragic loss of his life.”

David Williams, 52, and Luke Williams, 24, appeared before Llandudno magistrates’ court accused of killing Mr Saffy.  

After a four-minute hearing, both were remanded in custody until Tuesday at Mold crown court.
