Merthyr Tydfil bricklayer Liam Reardon crowned Love Island 2021 winner with partner Millie Court
A 22-year old bricklayer from Merthyr Tydfil has been crowned the winner of Love Island 2021 in a glitzy ceremony alongside his partner Millie Court.
The glamorous couple received the most votes from the public to take the £50,000 pride for winning the ITV2 show.
The couple, nicknamed 'Milliam', finished ahead of couple Chloe Burrows and Tony Aromolaran who finished second.
Individually, Liam and Millie were then given the choice of splitting the cash prize or stealing it for themselves, but unsurprisingly they both chose to split the money.
One fan on Twitter described Liam as the 'King of Wales'.
When Liam initially entered the Love Island villa he coupled up with 26-year-old Faye Winter, but when Millie joined the show she chose him for a one-on-one date.
The couple remained together throughout the rest of the show, albeit enduring a tough period when Liam strayed from Millie during a week at Casa Amor, when the boys were away at a different villa with new women.
Eventually, as the show reached the end, Liam told Millie he loved her at their special final date in the villa.
During their final interview on the show, Liam asked Millie to be his girlfriend, which she accepted.
In a short interview posted on social media after their victory, Liam said: "Thankyou everyone. We're leaving together and we're going to continue our journey so thankyou".
