River search for missing canoeist in Taff's Well suspended

A river search for a canoeist in Taff's Well has been called off for the night.

Police spent all of Tuesday searching the River Taff for a person reported to have capsized from their canoe.

Police say they've had to stop for the evening due to the adverse weather conditions but specialist search teams are likely to resume on Wednesday.

The incident is unrelated to another search on the River Taff in Cardiff. There are reports of a person entering the water near the Principality Stadium.

On Tuesday evening, South Wales Police appealed for information about items found during their search. Items included gloves, boots and a wetsuit.
