Former Wales captain Sam Warburton announces birth of baby boy

Former international rugby player Sam Warburton has announced the birth of his second child.

In a post on social media, Warburton shared a photo carrying his son, who has been named Max, outside the Universal Hospital of Wales in Cardiff.

The post said: "Welcome Max James Kennedy-Warburton".

Warburton and his childhood sweetheart Rachel married in 2014 at the Celtic Manor and already have a daughter called Anna Victoria who was born in 2016.

The couple celebrating their sixth anniversary in July.

The former flanker, capped 74 times for his country, retired from the sport in 2018 after announcing his body was feeling the effects of playing professional rugby.

His retirement came as a shock to many, with Warburton aged just 29 at the time.

He has since joined Wayne Pivac's national coaching team as a technical advisor.
