Flash flooding in Aberystwyth as thunderstorms hit parts of Wales

Aberystwyth has been hit by flash floods as thunderstorms were forecast around Wales following the hot weather.

Footage on social media showed significant rainfall in the area, before photos of main roads left underwater emerged online.

The Met Office warned of thunderstorms on Monday warning "prolonged and torrential rain" were stretching from Devon into parts of Wales.

Videos and photos of the flooding were posted on Twitter.
