Man dies in hospital after being pulled from sea at Barmouth beach

A man has died in hospital after getting to difficulty in the sea in Barmouth.

North Wales Police said the man is believed to be in his 30s and his family have been made aware.

He was one of four people rescued from the sea by Holyhead Coastguard at about 1 30 PM.

The Welsh Ambulance service said one person was taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd Hospital, another two were taken there by road.

Eye-witnesses at the scene said three children had got into difficulties in the water and that a man had gone into the water to bring them ashore.
