Three further deaths from coronavirus in Wales reported
There have been three more deaths from coronavirus in Wales on Sunday, taking the total to 1,565.
Public Health Wales have confirmed a further 37 new cases of COVID-19 were reported, taking the recorded total to 17,315, although the actual figure is likely to be much higher..
Of those 37 cases, 27 of them were in north Wales, with 21 in the north east, centred on Wrexham and Flintshire.
The new figures come as Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board revealed there were currently 61 confirmed cases in Wrexham Maelor Hospital.
Gill Harris, Executive Director of Nursing and Midwifery said: "We expect this number to fluctuate as test results are received and new patients are admitted to the hospital."
“As part of a proactive approach at Wrexham Maelor Hospital, we continue to screen all patients.
"We expect to find more cases in patients and staff who are not currently symptomatic. This is crucial as it will provide a transparent and accurate picture of the current situation, enabling us to safely manage patients and prevent any unknown potential transmission.
“Please help us to continue to reduce the risk of transmission by only visiting the Wrexham Maelor site if it is absolutely necessary.
