Welsh pub forced to close after customer tests positive for coronavirus
A pub has had to close its doors after a customer tested positive for coronavirus. The Tafarn Y Rhos pub in the village of Rhostrehwfa on Anglesey has announced that it is temporarily shutting down after the drinker found they had Covid-19.It comes just days after pubs were given the green light to open outdoor spaces in Wales. In a statement on Facebook, the pub said: "We are unfortunately having to close until further notice as one of our customers has tested positive for covid."Sorry but we have to ensure your safety as well as our staff."
A pub spokesman said they were currently analysing Government advice. They said that when given instruction from officials, they would take further action. The pub opened its outside space on Monday after the Welsh Government allowed the partial reopening of the hospitality industry.
The pub is just minutes from the town of Llangefni, which had to deal with a large-scale coronavirus outbreak at the 2 Sisters meat processing factory earlier in the lockdown. The Welsh Government said on Tuesday that the outbreak had been contained, and there was no evidence of a wider transmission within the local community.
