Police are investigating the death of a man who is believed to have fallen from a moving vehicle in Cardiff.

Police said James Davies, 28, was seriously injured during the incident involving a green Skoda Citigo car on Avondale Road in the Grangetown area at around 8.30pm on 23rd June. He died in hospital the following day.

Officers are urging anyone with information to come forward. They said they would particularly like to speak to two individuals who were seen on CCTV walking along the pavement opposite Avondale Stores, heading in the direction of the River Taff, at the time of the incident. The individuals are not believed to have been walking together.

James Davies' family have paid tribute to "a much loved son and brother" who was "loved unconditionally by all."

The family tribute continues: “James, a talented singer, motorbike enthusiast and a keen fisherman, had a heart of gold.

“James loved life and taking holidays with his family but more than anything he loved his mum and his daughter, they were his whole world.  There was never a time when he spoke about his family that he didn’t smile ear to ear, he had so much passion and love for every single one of us.

“James has physically left us but we take comfort that he’s now with the angels, his dad and nanny and that his heart is still beating on having been able to help others through the gift of organ donation.”
