No Covid-19 patients at Royal Glamorgan Hospital in Llantrisant

The Royal Glamorgan Hospital in Llantrisant said there are currently no coronavirus patients being treated there.

It comes after no new deaths from coronavirus were reported in Wales yesterday for the first time since lockdown began.

The Royal Glamorgan Hospital looks after patients in the Rhondda Cynon Taf (RCT) community. In May, RCT had the highest number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 in the whole of the UK.

Today, the health board announced the "great news" that there are no Covid-19 patients at the hospital.

In the Welsh Government press conference earlier, the Health Minister Vaughan Gething said despite the good news of no Covid-19 deaths in Wales yesterday, "our journey is not finished".

Today's figures show a further three reported deaths, bringing the total to 1,534.
