Cardiff City's Sol Bamba lost Range Rover, Louis Vuitton bag and Cartier watch after raid on family home

Cardiff City star Sol Bamba had a Range Rover, Louis Vuitton bag and Cartier watch stolen from his home after it was targeted by three thieves, a court has heard.

The £90,000 raid happened while his team were playing away in France in July last year.The trio struck while Bamba's team were playing in Nice - and his wife Chloe was away with their three children aged five to 12.

CCTV images from his home showed the three people wearing dark clothes, gloves and hoodies as they walked across his lawn into the house.

Cardiff Crown Court heard how the family's private possessions were smashed leaving wife Chloe "devastated at the intrusion into her home."Judge Richard Twomlow said: "I am told the house was ransacked and property smashed during the burglary."Daniel Flynn, 18, was seen driving a Range Rover Sport away from the house after the property was robbed. An exclusive Louis Vuitton bag and a Cartier watch were among the possessions taken in the raid - which left the family feeling "violated."

Cardiff City were playing a pre-season friendly against OGC Nice on the day of the burglary. Flynn pleaded guilty at Cardiff Crown Court to burgling Mr Bamba's property on the outskirts of the Welsh capital in July last year.Accomplice Kyle Harris, 25, of Rumney, Cardiff, was earlier jailed for two years after admitting his part in the burglary.The prosecution said Flynn, of Rumney, had played a "willing part and had been involved in" many burglaries.Flynn will be sentenced later this month.
