Boy, 15, charged with supply of drugs following death of Carson Price
A 15-year-old boy from Caerphilly has been charged with supply of a class A drug, following the death of Carson Price.
An inquest in May this year found 13-year-old Price died from a "violent reaction" to ecstasy on April 12, after taking the drug while with friends in his local park.
The defendant, who cannot be named due to legal reasons, will appear at Cwmbran Youth Court on July 28, charged with the supply of a controlled drug.
Police had arrested him on April 18, on suspicion of the supply of class A controlled drugs in connection with the death.
Carson's family said that they had been 'living a nightmare' following the events on April 12.
Superintendent Nick McLain said at the time "The effects of the events that led to Carson’s tragic death have been felt by all those who knew Carson and has had a devastating impact on everyone involved, and most particularly his mother, his father, his brother and the rest of his family."
His family said in a statement at the time: "On Friday 12th April, our lives changed forever when our little boy was taken away from us.
"Carson was bright and caring, kind and loving. He was a cheeky little boy. He was the best big brother to Coby and was loved by so many."
