Wales sees slowest fall in Covid19 cases in UK

Wales is experiencing the slowest decline in Covid-19 cases compared to any other part of the UK, new analysis reveals.

The Nuffield Trust - an independent health think tank - has looked at official Covid-19 data from across the UK.

The analysis shows that per 100,000 of the population, Wales has experienced the highest number of cases at 475. This is followed by the North East of England at 391. The South West of England has the lowest number of Covid cases per 100,000 people, at 139.

The trust has also plotted a seven day rolling average of cases on a graph - using data taken from Welsh, Scottish and UK governments. The chart shows how the virus took hold in March and has since declined.

The Nuffield Trust details show how Wales has the slowest decline in the virus as well as an apparent 'bump' where cases rose compared to other parts of the UK before beginning to fall again.
