Carmarthenshire County Council says it's looking for up to 300 cleaning staff for schools and council buildings in the county ahead of plans to reopen schools and other services during the coronavirus pandemic.

Last week Education Minister Kirsty Williams announced that schools in Wales will reopen on June 29 to allow teachers and pupils to prepare for a 'new normal' in September.

The council says temporary cleaners are 'desperately needed' in a number of areas including Ammanford, Carmarthen, Cross Hands, Cwmllynfell, Garnant, Glanamman, Kidwelly, Laugharne/Pendine, Llandeilo, Llandovery, Llanelli, Llanybydder/Llanllwni, Newcastle Emlyn, Pencader, St Clears, Tumble and Whitland.
