Hospital theatre assistant dies after contracting coronavirus
A theatre assistant from Cardiff has died after contracting coronavirus, the local health board has confirmed.
Allan Macalalad died at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital on Tuesday after testing positive for Covid-19.
Cardiff and Vale University Health Board said they are "shocked and saddened" to hear of his passing.
Mr Macalalad was a carpenter by trade and lived with his son Justin and wife Elsie in Cardiff, who is also a nurse.
He is described as a "perfect gentleman, social hardworking and a loyal team player."
His family paid tribute to him calling him a "wonderful and loving husband father and son."
"He was also a very generous and genuine person."
