Welsh businesses received more than £600m in grants as minister set to reveal coronavirus spending plan
Businesses in Wales have received more than £600m from the Welsh Government during the coronavirus pandemic.
52,000 grants have been awarded to Welsh businesses, who are already benefiting from rates relief through a £1.4bn package announced in March.
The Welsh Government will reveal its plans to spend more than £2.4bn on the coronavirus crisis in their supplementary budget.
The budget, published by Finance Minister Rebecca Evans, will include £750m spent on the NHS and other public services.
This latest allocation of funds means the Welsh Government's budget has increased by more than 10% in the current financial year as Wales tries to get to respond to the economic impacts of Covid-19.
The Welsh Government are describing it as the "most generous business support package in the UK."
The Future Generations Commissioner Sophie Howe has urged the Welsh Government to prioritise green jobs in the budget.
She says it is a "once in a generation opportunity" to reset Wales' economy.
