Ford to restart production at Bridgend engine plant
Ford will restart production at its site in Bridgend from next week, the car giant has confirmed.
Work will also resume at the company's engine plants in Essex and Valencia Engine Plant in Spain.
More than 1,000 employees in Bridgend have been on furlough since March because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The chairman of Ford of Britain said work areas are being redesigned to allow social distancing.
It comes as Aston Martin started a phased return to work for a number of its manufacturing staff at its manufacturing facility in St Athan.
Last year Ford workers were told the plant will close in September this year. The closure is part of a trend which has seen Wales lose 13,000 manufacturing jobs over the last decade.
