Dan Biggar on lockdown, future with Northampton, and his hope for the Wales team
As countries around the world relax lockdown guidelines amid the coronavirus pandemic, it seems like a return of some sports could still be further away.
As part of the 'At Home With' feature, Welsh rugby star Dan Biggar sat down with ITV Wales' Sports Reporter Beth Fisher to discuss the impact that lockdown has had on him.
The series has already included Ryan Giggs, Cardiff's Sol Bamba and Swansea captain Matt Grimes.
So what exactly does a rugby star do in lockdown?
Dan Biggar said he is keeping himself busy by sharing child care duties with his wife for their 2-year-old son, and revealed his newfound love of coffee art.
Whilst the Number 10 is missing structure to his life, he praised the great support sports teams and individuals have been giving to communities across the country, including his former club Ospreys.
"It is really nice to see how people have been using the profiles to help others and clubs have been working, I think social media has been a really powerful tool for that at the moment," he added.
Despite, missing the sport, the rugby star confessed that he has enjoyed not having the ''constant'' pressure of playing.
Move to Northampton
Biggar transferred from Ospreys to Northampton in 2018, leaving the Swansea club who he had broken a number of records for.
''The move to Northampton has been really good, it has helped me to create a bigger divide between rugby and my home life, I am really happy that I made the move here,'' he said.
He now has his eyes set on winning a premiership with Northampton.
Hope for Wales
As for the international stage, Biggar believes they can continue to progress over the coming years with Wayne Pivac. He replaced Warren Gatland last year after the World Cup.
He admitted the squad are working to improve their strength and depth after a disappointing World Cup.
The Fly-Half said ''Wayne has done a great job, we worked really hard for the World Cup last year but unfortunately we just didn't give it enough."
The sportsman may have many newfound talents up his sleeve, and goals in mind, there's one industry he's steering clear of - acting.
