Doctor's car fixed for free after parts stolen while on shift at the Royal Gwent Hospital
A doctor's car was fixed for free by a mechanic after parts were stolen whiele he was working on the coronavirus frontline.
The catalytic converter was stolen from Tom Rontree-Carey's Toyota Prius in the Royal Gwent Hospital staff car park.
The hospital is one of Britain's worst hotspots of the pandemic.
But after his father had posted about it on Facebook, the part was replaced for free by Fast Parts Wales in Cwmbran.
The part was then fitted, also for free, by AJ Garage Services in Caerleon, Newport. Both firms refused any payment from the doctor.
The 28-year-old junior doctor said he was ''incredibly grateful''.
The junior doctor said his faith in humanity has ''been restored.''
He added, “It was unbelievable.I didn’t expect it at all. It certainly saved me a lot of time and stress."
It's not the first time people have shown acts of kindness to those working in the NHS.
Lats month, Welsh cyclist, Luke Rowe, gifted a bike to a hospital worker who had his bike stolen while working at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff.
