Cardiff dad pranks children with fake letter from PM ordering school on weekends after lockdown
A dad from Cardiff has raised the level of pranks at home by giving his children a fake letter from the prime minister saying they would have to attend weekend school sessions after the coronavirus lockdown.
Liam Schewitz gave his daughters a letter detailing how they would be required to go to school seven days a week to catch-up on their education.
The stand-up comedian has been playing practical jokes on his daughters Millie, 12, and Frankie, 8, for a number of years but said that his latest was one of the best.
Mr Schewitz explained how, just minutes after he had told them about the new government policy, they were on the phone to their friends in the bedroom trying to tell them about what they had just found out.
"It was hilarious, we could hear them on the phones saying 'no it is real, it is official from Boris Johnson', it just went so much better than we could have hoped," Mr Schewitz continued.
"I didn't tell them for seven hours because it was just so funny."
Mr Schewitz explained how his daughters' main concerns were over who would go to water parks when they opened.
He said he helped put their minds at ease about this by convincing them that he would be going with his own friends when they were at school.
Recalling the moment he revealed it was a prank, Mr Schewitz said: "We had to tell them in the end because they were getting quite overwhelmed by it I think, they weren't emotional but they were sat on their phones trying to research it and everything.
"What has been really nice is the reaction to it on Twitter, I was a bit worried about it at first but the kids have got a real kick out of it and they are loving seeing people's reactions.
"It is just a nice bit of fluff that has helped to make people happy."
Although that prank ended well for Mr Schewitz, he believes there may be a revenge joke coming his way soon as prank week continues.
