Tom Jones added to line-up of celebrities in online event to support frontline workers
Welsh singing icon, Tom Jones, will be among the artists coming together to celebrate the work of healthcare workers with an online event.
The One World: Together At Home show is being held on April 18 in support of of the global response to the COVID-19 pandemic, led by the World Health Organisation.
The event, which will show exclusive performances from the likes of Tom Jones and Celine Dion, will celebrate the efforts of frontline staff around the world during the coronavirus pandemic.
It will support the COVID-19 Response Fund, set up by the UN Foundation.
Organisers, Global Citizen, said the aim is to bring people together through music.
Others in the line-up include artists such as Lady Gaga, Jess Glynne and Sam Smith. Lewis Hamilton, Matthew Mcconaughey, and Samuel L Jackson are among the long list of celebrities also taking part.
The Solidarity Response Fund was launched last month by Global Citizen. It is calling on individuals, governments and philanthropists to join and support the response with sufficient resources.
