Company that made Meghan Markle's jeans creates scrubs for NHS
A Cardigan-based denim company has started creating scrubs for the NHS.
Hiut Denim, founded by David and Clare Hieatt, said it got back into production to help NHS staff in need of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Before the coronavirus pandemic, Hiut Demin made jeans for Meghan Markle, which she wore on her visit to Cardiff with Prince Harry in January 2018.
Clare Hieatt said the Hiut Denim factory closed on 23rd March when lockdown began and she had to furlough some workers. Now, some of those workers have started volunteering for the NHS.
She said the company registered to start making PPE four weeks ago.
Since then, it has been making a batch of scrubs for the Royal Free Hospital in London and now the plan is start making more for Welsh hospitals.
