Man jailed for assault after trying to spit at police in Cardiff

A man has been jailed for assault on emergency service workers after he attempted to spit at police officers in Cardiff.

Grzegorz Klopotek, 42, from Roath was arrested in the Cathays area of the city after police responded to calls that an intoxicated man was harassing members of the public.

When the officers arrived he threatened and attempted to spit at them.

The man received a 12 week sentence for assault on emergency workers and, in relation to a separate incident, a four month jail term for carrying an offensive weapon.
