From sending letters to neighbours to sharing recipe ideas: How one boy is helping lift spirits during lockdown

An eight-year-old boy from Carmarthenshire is determined to spread a bit of happiness to his local community during lockdown.

Arun Davies who, like thousands of children across Wales, is off school and ''a bit bored'' has spent his free time thinking of different ways he can lift the spirits of those around him.

''I know a lot of people are sad and bored because of coronavirus and I have been trying to help,'' Arun said.

With the playground closed in his local park, Arun has created chalk obstacle courses to keep other children happy during their daily walks.

He has also written letters to neighbours with rainbow drawings to help brighten their windows.

Showing off his culinary skills, Arun has even shared recipe tips with friends and sent them videos showing how to make delicious treats.

Arun wrote to ITV Wales to share his activities during lockdown in the hope that ''other children can do the same as me to help others near them.''
