Children's hospice appeals for equipment to continue end-of-life care during coronavirus outbreak
A children's hospice is appealing for specialist equipment to help them continue their end-of-life care to terminally ill children.
Hope House Children's Hospices in Tŷ Gobaith in Conwy and Oswestry offer nursing care to families whose child is reaching the end of their life, and to families in crisis.
Nurses and parents need to wear protective equipment to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and to keep themselves and the children they are caring for safe.
However, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is in short supply throughout the United Kingdom.
Director of Care, Karen Wright, said the hospices are in ''desperate need'' of equipment.
The Care Team received a donation of surgical masks last week but are in need of specialist equipment.
Hope House and Tŷ Gobaith hospices are appealing for fluid resistant gowns and/or non fluid-resistant gowns, fluid resistant masks, respirators and disposable full face visors.
The hospice is asking for companies who have access to any items to contact them directly.
