Former Cardiff City footballer Peter Whittingham hospitalised
Former Cardiff City football player Peter Whittingham is being treated in hospital after suffering a fall, South Wales Police has confirmed.
Police said they were called to a "licensed premises" in Barry on 7 March where a 35-year-old suffered a head injury as a result of a fall.
Police added officers are continuing into the circumstances of the incident.
The 35-year-old from Nuneaton, played eleven seasons for the Bluebirds after joining the side in 2007.
He is being treated at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff.
Whittingham played more than 450 competitive matches and scored 96 goals, during his time at the Welsh club.
