Welsh travellers "stuck abroad" as thousands of flights and holidays cancelled
Thousands of Welsh travellers already abroad or due to travel will see their holidays disrupted or cancelled as tour operators and resorts shut their doors as part of measures to contain the spread of Coronavirus.
On Saturday tour operator TUI, one of Europe's biggest holiday companies, cancelled holidays to many of it's destinations, including Spain, Jamaica and Italy.
Many holidays planned for this month have been cancelled.
The company say they are currently prioritising customers travelling before April 1st.
Closer to home visitors to Spain and France are also affected.
Both countries are among the governments taking increasingly desperate measures to contain the coronavirus.
Spain has now implemented a national lockdown similar to the one already imposed in Italy.
In France gatherings of more than 100 people are banned, schools are closed, and most shops, restaurants and entertainment facilities - including ski resorts - have been shut down.
Will Draper from Newport flew to the ski resort of Courchevel on Saturday.
He now faces the dilemma of how to get home.
The Foreign & Commonwealth Office says those preparing to travel should check the travel advice to the country you are travelling to before making arrangements.
Meanwhile Cardiff Airport says it is feeling the impact.
In a statement they say some flights are operating as normal, but the advice for customers is to check with their airline, tour operator or travel agent before travelling to the airport.
They say, "the current global situation is unprecedented."
