Welsh Labour postpones annual conference due to coronavirus outbreak

Welsh Labour has announced that it is postponing its annual conference to allow the Welsh Government to devote its "full attention to responding to the coronavirus outbreak."

The conference was due to take place at the end of March in Llandudno.

In a statement, the Welsh Labour Leader and First Minister Mark Drakeford said, “At a time when the whole Welsh Labour Government is focused on responding to the major challenge of Coronavirus, I have decided it would not be right for members of the Welsh Government to be taken away from those duties."

Mr Drakeford added, “The Welsh Government is not at present suggesting cancellation of other events in Wales but do advise everyone to think carefully if they represent the best use of time and resources in the current context.”
