Aaron Ramsey's Juventus teammate tests positive for coronavirus

Aaron Ramsey's Juventus teammate, Daniele Rugani, has tested positive for coronavirus.

The 25-year-old international player has been placed in quarantine as medics carry out checks on those he has been in contact with.

A statement on the club's official website said: "The footballer Daniele Rugani has tested positive for Coronavirus-COVID-19 and is currently asymptomatic.

"Juventus Football Club is currently activating all the isolation procedures required by law, including those who have had contact with him."

Midfielder Ramsey is unlikely to play in Wales' friendlies this month due to the coronavirus lockdown in Italy. It's understood he will not make the trip back to Wales for the home games with Austria and the United States because of the travelling restrictions in Italy.

All stores, except food markets and pharmacies, will be closed in Italy as it struggles to get to grips with coronavirus.

The country has has more than 10,000 infections and has been on virtual lockdown since earlier this week as Covid-19 continues to spread.

Britons returning from Italy have been told by the Foreign Office to self-isolate for 14 days - and Wales' first March friendly against Austria is only 17 days away.

It is understood that the Football Association of Wales believe that, given the circumstances, it will be "difficult" for Ramsey to leave Italy and play in the two games.

Wales' friendly against Austria is on Friday, 27 March.
