Lorry gets stuck twice in narrow Swansea streets
A Tesco delivery lorry got stuck twice while driving the streets in Swansea.
The lorry encountered problems when it was travelling along Terrace Road in Mount Pleasant, and attempted to turn down Rose Hill, some time around 4am.
The vehicle was stuck in place for more than four hours, until it was able to be moved.
One resident said: "It was stuck from around 4.30am. The police woke people up, including me, to move my car".
The driver’s troubles didn’t end there after it got stuck again for another couple of hours while trying to turn onto Constitution Hill.
Council officers attended the scene, and took the decision to cut the handrail free, in order to enable the lorry to move.
A spokesman for Tesco said the route was not the correct one, and specialist assistance was being provided to get the vehicle moved as quickly as possible.
He added: “One of our vehicles got into difficulty after taking the wrong route when delivering in Swansea this morning.
“We are investigating how this happened and apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
