Cardiff Devils don rainbow colours to promote inclusivity in hockey
A Welsh hockey team will sport a specially designed jersey this weekend, in a bid to promote inclusivity amongst players and fans.
The Cardiff Devils' usual jersey will be replaced with a rainbow coloured one which celebrates the LGBTQ community.
It's part of Pride Weekend, which will see all teams in the league wearing pride colours.
''We don't take too lightly to groups of people that are getting picked on in society,'' player Evan Mosey said.
''As hockey players it's our duty to stand up and give them a voice.
''What we're trying to do is show people, you don't need to live in fear. Just be yourself.''
It is hoped that more people will feel welcomed at games as part of the initiative and it is something that is already having a positive effect.
''One man messaged me saying he normally felt he could never bond with his father over a game,'' Pride Cymru's Gian Molinu said.
''Now he's coming to a game this weekend with his dad for the first time.
''He said he can go to a match with his dad and feel as though it is for him as well.
''I think it's an important message that we can't trivialise.''
