84-year-old woman dies in Hirwaun car crash

An 84-year-old woman from Aberdare, who was driving a grey Peugeot, died as a result of the crash on Friday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the collision involving a red BMW and a Peugeot on Rhigos Road at 3pm.

A 25-year-old man was arrested following a fatal car accident in Hirwaun but has now been released under police investigation.

The family of the woman have been informed and are being supported by a specially-trained family liaison officer.
