Jonathan Davies and Rhys Patchell both face lengthy spells on the sidelines after sustaining injuries at the Rugby World Cup.
The Welsh Rugby Union announced the players each need surgery in a statement, with Davies out of next year's Six Nations.
Davies is set to be out for more than six months because of a knee injured suffered against Fiji,
Patchell sustained a shoulder injury during the third place play-off, with his recovery time estimated to be between 12 and 16 weeks.
