New Wales football shirt launched ahead of Euro qualifiers
The Football Association of Wales has launched a brand new shirt ahead of the next Euro qualifiers.
It features the new Cymru national team badge and uses colours "inspired by the shield of Owain Glyndwr". The yellow, red and green striped cuffs is a reference to 'The Red Wall' motif.
The shirt can be seen at a new exhibition called 'The Art of the Wales Shirt' at St Fagan's National Museum of History in Cardiff. The free exhibition will start on Monday 11th November until Sunday 24th November and will be open daily
Other iconic shirts worn by famous footballers such as Terry Yorath, Ian Rush, Gareth Bale and both current managers, Ryan Giggs and Jayne Ludlow, will be on display.
Wales Women will wear the kit first for their Euro 2021 qualifier against Northern Ireland on Tuesday night.
Wales will be looking for an away win after conceding an injury time equaliser to Northern Ireland when they played in September. This will be their 4th match in their quest to qualify for the Euro 2021 being held in England.
Wales are currently second in the group, behind leaders Norway. But they will be without Natasha Harding who is out with a hamstring injury until January 2020. Harding joins Jess Fishlock on the injury list.
Wales Men will wear the kit on Saturday when they play Azerbaijan in Baku.
They need to beat Azerbaijan and then Hungary at Cardiff City Stadium three days later to qualify automatically for the Euro 2020 finals.
Real Madrid's Gareth Bale has not played since suffering a calf injury during Wales' 1-1 draw against Croatia on 13th October.
But Bale joined the first training session with Wales ahead of their match on Saturday. He has continued his rehabilitation away from the main Real group in recent weeks.
Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey, Manchester United winger Daniel James, Aston Villa defender Neil Taylor and Bristol City defender Ashley Williams were due to join the squad later after being involved for their clubs on Sunday.
