Travel warnings issued as snow affects parts of north and mid Wales

Snowfall has affected areas across north and mid Wales.

Traffic Wales issued several travel alerts with snow and ice causing poor driving conditions, leading to delays.

Delays were reported in both directions on the A458 with heavy traffic due to snow from A490 (Welshpool) to B4395 (Llangadfan).

Warnings have also been issued for the A458 between Llanfair Caereinion and Welshpool, the A483 between Llanbadarn Fynydd and Llananno, and the A470 between Dolgellau to Mallwyd.

The Horseshoe Pass in Denbighshire was closed due to the "hazardous" conditions. It has since reopened.

The snow is not expected to continue over the weekend according to the MetOffice. The forecast for Sunday starts with a few showers which should drift away, leaving a mostly dry day with sunny spells.
