Police thank public after search for missing child called off in Ceredigion

Dyfed Powys Police has thanked members of the public for their concern and offers of help, after a large-scale search operation was carried out in the early hours of Sunday morning.

It came after reports an unaccompanied child had been seen at Clarach Bay Caravan Park near Aberystwyth.

Both Coastguard teams and a police helicopter were involved in the search, but on Sunday morning officers confirmed it had been called off.

In a statement on social media they said they had not located an unaccompanied child, and had not received any reports of a child missing from the area.

They say they are "satisfied there is no child outstanding", and thanked the public for their help.
