Bench to tackle loneliness for housing association tenants revealed at Eisteddfod

A bench to get people in sheltered housing talking and socialising will travel around Conwy to help tackle loneliness.

The aim is to get those living in housing associations, who may not get the chance to meet new people, to talk and form friendships with others in the community.

It was created by artist Catrin Williams and furniture maker Rhodri Owen, with the help of Cartrefi Conwy tenants and local schoolchildren who created more than eighty pieces of artwork for the bench.

For people like Megan and Tilly, the bench is a way to help them get out of the house.

It is currently at the Eisteddfod Cadair Sgwrs, where it was revealed, before it is placed for set period at easily accessible locations on housing estates in Conwy.
