Reduced service on GWR trains due to 'high temperatures'
Great Western Railway has halved the number of trains leaving South Wales for London Paddington because of the risk that rail tracks will buckle in the heat .
GWR says all services scheduled to leave Cardiff at 56 mins past the hour will no longer run along with the 15 mins past the hour service from Paddington.
It referred to the current forecast, which suggests there is a 60% chance temperatures will exceed the current all-time record.
Network Rail is predicting track temperatures of more than 50˚C.
GWR say speed restrictions are required on lines in the London Paddington area until track temperatures drop.
Network Rail warned passengers to check before they travel.
