Geraint Thomas best-placed after Tour de France longest day
Defending champion Geraint Thomas remains the best-placed of the main contenders, fifth overall after seeing out the longest day of the Tour De France.
Dylan Groenewegen won stage seven in Chalon-sur-Saone as Giulio Ciccone retained the yellow jersey.
Friday was much less dramatic the previous day, with the longest stage of the Tour raced at relatively sedate pace as riders let their legs recover.
There were no significant changes to the general classification.
